Description

Dali Oberon On Wall C : Active bWireless Speaker

Price for one piece

Dali Oberon On Wall C Wireless Speakers will find a role in any size room that includes a TV with space for speakers on both sides. The wall mounted speaker is equally adept at reproducing all audio formats and is part of Dali’s wireless Hi-Fi eco system.

It was designed with TV audio in mind and despite its compact dimensions, the combination of Dali technologies grant it a performance comparable to significantly larger speakers. Built for direct wall mounting via rear panel keyhole slots, it accomodates both portrait and landscape orientations.

Oberon C Active Series

Following the success of the pioneering Rubicon C and Callisto C wireless series, the new Oberon C series brings you wireless active Hi-Fi that comfortably outperforms equivalent passive systems. The cost-effective and seamlessly integrated wireless Hi-Fi speaker is perfectly configured for contemporary home media installations where Bluetooth devices and smart TVs are the primary audio sources. Music lovers no longer have to choose between incredible sound quality and convenient integration.

Sound Hub Compact or Sound Hub

This speaker comes with the option of Sound Hub Compact (which is HDMI, Bluetooth, Optical, Analogue, Sub out) or Sound Hub (which has multiple digital inputs, analogue inputs and a BLUOS streaming module). SHC is aimed for those wanting to use it with their TVs whereas the SH is more suitable for audio enthusiasts.

Active Amplification

Matching the exceptional driver units of the award-winning passive Oberon series with active amplification and DSP filter technology enables a level of performance significantly higher than its passive counterparts. Oberon C uses both known and new technologies from the Callisto C and Rubicon C systems. The rear-mounted electronic module incorporates a wireless receiver, user setup interface, DSP EQ, crossover filter and a high efficiency 2 channel power amp with integrated power supply.

SMC Bass/Mid Driver

Dali Oberon C bass/mid drivers feature proprietary paper pulp and wood fibre composite diaphragm materials, advanced copper-coated aluminium voicecoil wire and unique SMC (Soft Magnet Compound) magnet technology. SMC significantly reduces the effect of a variety of distortion-producing mechanisms inherent to moving-coil drivers. For example, SMC minimises eddy current effects, increases flux linearity, reduces magnetic hysteresis and minimises the variation of voice-coil inductance with position.

High Frequency Driver

Oberon C high frequency driver is a damped textile dome tweeter featuring an unusually light diaphragm and a larger 29mm diaphragm and voicecoil. The light diaphragm means that the upper frequency response is unusually extended before its mass limited roll-off while the large diameter diaphragm and voice coil increases sensitivity and power handling, reduces distortion and enables the driver to operate to lower frequencies. The driver is equipped with ferro-fluid in its voice-coil gap further increasing power handling, and significantly reducing signal compression as the voicecoil temperature rises with increased volume.

Cabinet Construction

Made from CNC machined high strength MDF panels and finished with a variety of wood-effect or matt laminates, the cabinets are engineered for optimum rigidity to minimise panel resonance. The internal cabinet damping materials are positioned strategically to maximise midrange energy attenuation without degrading bass transient response and bandwidth.

Large rear panel dual-flare reflex ports are engineered to minimise port turbulence, distortion and compression while also factoring-in the proximity of the rear wall. This delays the onset of airflow turbulence as volume level rises and helps ensure that bass performance remains consistent at all volumes. A rear reflex port has the benefit of directing any midrange energy from inside the cabinet away from the listening position.

Wireless Functions

Dali Oberon C wireless receiver module acquires the digital wireless stream transmitted from the Sound Hub Compact or Sound Hub and, depending on the channel role assigned, either the left or right channel data is discarded. The remaining channel data is then passed in unchanged at 24 bit/96 kHz resolution to the DSP based equalisation and crossover filter electronics.

EQ & Crossover

Dali Oberon C EQ and crossover filter elements gently modify frequency response for neutrally balance overall in the listening room. It also analyses the incoming signal and applies subtle dynamic profiling to ensure the bass/mid drivers are operating within their low distortion limits for consistent performance at all volume levels.

The crossover filter divides the signal appropriately for the drivers through a pair of digital filters: a low-pass filter feeding the bass/mid driver and a high-pass filter feeding the high frequency driver. Applying EQ and crossover filtering entirely in the digital domain is one of the enormous advantages that digital active speakers have over their traditional analogue passive speakers.

Power Amplification

The Oberon On Wall C power amplification comprises two 50 Watt peak, closed loop Class-D power amplifiers chosen specifically for their sound quality and dynamic ability. One amplifier powers the high frequency driver, one powers the bass/mid driver. The signal-to-noise ratio of the power amplifiers ensures that even the smallest detail in a quiet musical passage is reproduced with clarity and accuracy. Powering the amplifier is a custom designed, 65W rms, low noise switched mode supply that dynamically shares resources between the two amplifier channels.

Finish Options

Dali Oberon On Wall C speakers come in four high quality laminate cabinet finishes (matt white, light oak, dark walnut and black ash) and are supplied with a contrasting grey fabric grille attached with conventional grille pegs.
