Voice reproduction on a new level
As a dialogue channel, the centre speaker plays an enormously important role in a surround system. Reason enough for us to set the same high standards for the Classic Center 2 as we do for all our speakers.

That’s why the Classic Center 2 is based on the same high quality drivers, the crossover design and the entire technical layout as the Calassic 15. This ensures that the Classic Center 2 forms a perfect acoustic symbiosis with all the speakers in the Classic series when used in multi-channel applications.

As you would expect from Audio Physic, the workmanship of the Classic Center 2 is beyond reproach. The intricate glass sandwich enclosure is crafted with the same care as all our speakers.

As a 2½-way system, the bass-midrange driver is supported by the second driver, enabling the Classic Center 2 to deliver a profound bass foundation with low distortion. Both drivers use woven glass-fibre diaphragms, which are lightweight and have high internal damping, effectively eliminating unwanted partial vibrations even at high levels. The fixed phase plug of the low-mid driver also reduces compression effects and helps to cool the magnet drive.

Between the two drivers sits the tweeter with a 22-millimetre fabric dome tweeter, which, thanks to a powerful drive unit, can also cope with large dynamic leaps and extends beyond 30 kHz in reproduction. The Classic Center 2 is therefore ideally suited to provide a finely differentiated, clear and exemplary neutral reproduction in a surround system – at any volume.

The Classic Center 2 is designed as a bass reflex system, but instead of a classic bass reflex tube, the sandwich construction of the side walls is used to direct the sound. This unique Audio Physic technology avoids the system-related disadvantages of a bass reflex tube and allows far fewer unwanted sound components to escape to the outside.

With a loudspeaker from Audio Physic, quality compromises are never an option, and that is why the Classic Center 2 already features high-quality WBT pole terminals from the nextgen® series. These are insensitive to mass storage and eddy current effects, and when using cable lugs, a clever torque indicator reliably shows when the ideal contact pressure for a permanently perfect contact has been reached.

Our Classic Center 2 can be combined in many different ways with all speakers of the Classic series as well as with the Luna subwoofer to form a visually and acoustically perfectly matched multi-channel set.
