Focal Vestia N3 speakers sit near the top of the Vestia range, with only the much larger N4 sitting above them – making the N3 an excellent choice for a variety of rooms and systems. Vestia range sits just above Chora and below the Aria line.

N3 is a five driver speaker with three 6” bass units and one mid range unit. Additionally the TAM aluminium magnesium inverted domed tweeter is used. The well braced cabinets are made of MDF and have more than one bass port to extend the low frequency response. Moreover, the floorstanders sit on aluminium stands that tilt back slightly. Black and a choice of wood finishes are available.

Rigid Ported Cabinets

As with the rest of the Vestia range the MDF enclosure has two tuned vents. This enhances the mid bass impact and improves the low end extension. The bracing also reduces resonances, for a natural sound. This also provides a solid mount for the unusual Slatefibre drivers.

Next, passive time alignment is used to make sure that bass and treble frequencies arrive at the listening position at the same time. This is achieved by tilting the cabinets back, slightly, using a built in aluminium stand.

Carbon Fibre Slatefibre Drivers

The Vestia series all use Slatefibre cone drivers. This innovative material is made of recycled non-woven carbon fibres that are bonded with a thermoplastic polymer. The fibres are all oriented in the same direction. This results in a very strong and rigid cone that resists warping. The sound is rich and ultra-balanced, especially in the midranges. This light-weight and attractive material has great acoustic properties. Also, damping is improved along with sensitivity.

TAM Aluminium Magnesium Tweeters

The TAM tweeter has a 25mm Aluminium magnesium inverted dome. Metal tweeters dissipate heat more readily, resisting warping and distortion. The range was originally developed for in car use and consequently, they have good off axis properties. Metal tweeters can sound harsh when not well designed however the TAM tweeter is properly matched to the Vestia range.

Vestia Range

The Vestia range consists of one bookshelf as well as three floor standing speaker sets. The N1 is a bookshelf speaker with two drivers. The N2 has two 6” bass units and one 6” midrange unit as well as the TAM tweeter. The flagship N4 has two larger 8” bass units as well as a mid range unit and the TAM tweeter. There is also a three driver centre speaker.
